New sources of inspiration to set your addresses apart. Varenne has invited Mathilde Brunelet, and Anna Peter-Breton to take over one of its branches.
A vernissage was held on Thursday 12 May 2022 to welcome the arrival of these two artists.
n ode to eclecticism. The opulence and abundance of nature, the richness of reality, the quest for purity and sumptuousness are all facets that characterise mat.b's creative approach. Contemplative, spiritual and resolutely enthusiastic, she paints on canvas or paper the forms, settings and silhouettes that convey the emotions that drive her. Her works are thus invitations to discover a universe with a singular pictorial language, where art is at the service of truth.
Themes, techniques and media follow one another in turn, according to her inspirations, which she confronts with her research, to compose a choral body of work with a unique eclecticism. Through her series of still lifes, nudes, naiads, hieroglyphs and sovereigns, mat.b subtly combines a wide range of subjects, the epitome of a lively and enduring body of work.

Originally from Hungary and Kyrgyzstan, she now lives in Paris where she co-directs a creative agency: Atelier Casanova. In 2017, Anna Peter-Breton co-founded Salon 21, a women's club dedicated to bringing together inspiring and exceptional women from diverse creative backgrounds. She champions and represents women in many aspects of her work.
Anna Peter-Breton's main stylistic approach began figuratively, inspired by her world travels, and gradually broadened her evolution as an artist towards more introspective works. Physical travel paved the way for creative journeys.
Anna Peter-Breton often explores the human figure in a new form of expression, emerging through transparency, colour gradations and organic nuances.
